Experts all agree on one thing. They are not quite sure. Some believe the economy is growing and will be better than expected in the near future. Others believe that the economy will be dragged down by the Euro that is having issues of its own. I guess only time will tell.

One issue that is in the news lately is the possibility that oil speculators are responsible for the high oil price s that has hit the American consumers lately. I believe this is very true and I want something done about it. I am tired of paying top dollar prices at the pump for a product that is clearly abundant.

Oil is everywhere and there are many countries producing it. When one country decides to cut production, another one will fill in the void. It is oil speculation that is driving up the price. Our government needs to take steps to prevent these actions and bring sanity back into the markets.

The government has a long memory in many cases. You would be surprised how much information they have on the average citizen. This info is written down somewhere and it can come back to haunt you when it is brought to light. There are other times however when you can do well just by knowing the truth.

The truth is that many people have money owed to them by the government. Unclaimed tax refunds are one area where the government owes out a lot of bills. I believe that those who don’t always file their taxes should check out the situation and see if they are owed money. It could be a very good day for some.

President Obama has unveiled his new plan for the coming years. He has maintained that the need to serve the poor while taxing the rich is the right way to go. His latest plan includes tax hikes on the wealthy while keeping programs for the poor and those who need medical care going.

Many republicans have already opposed the plan calling it bad for the economy. They want tax cuts instead of tax hikes. Either way, the government still owes trillions of dollars to foreign countries. I guess we will have to see how this turns out.

One thing that nearly every homeowner fears is the ability of the government to declare the right of eminent domain. This is when the law allows land to be forcibly taken for use by the government or others to help the public at large. What it usually means is that homeowners are forced to sell their property even if they don’t want to.

While I believe that in a true emergency the government should have the right to use your land, I feel this law has been abused. There are many cases where the courts are granting large companies the right to others property for little reason else than profit. I think everyone should check into this situation and voice their opinion.

One thing that I have always grown up with is the myth that my car’s oil should be changed every 3,000 miles. I was surprised when I found that this is not always the case. Many modern cars can go far longer without an oil change and we can save a lot of oil by obeying this new news.

Evan the state of California is getting on the bandwagon. The state is advising consumers to check and be sure that their car needs an oil change. This can be done on many web sites in just a few minutes. We must all do our part in saving oil and this is a great way to do so.

NASA is at it again. They are planning a new mission to land on the planet Mars. They are sending a rover nicknamed Curiosity to land on the planet and to send back data about it. The rover cost about $2.5 billion dollars and is expected to make the nine month trip as soon as it is able to launch.

The really bad part is that scientists are unsure whether or not the trip will be successful. There have been many failures with mars orbiters since the program has started. There is some hope though. Due to previous successful missions, scientists have learned many lessons. I wish them good fortune.

The battlefields that Americans have been fighting on lately demand a lot from a soldier. In response to that, the U.S. Army has decided that new fitness tests are needed. The tests now demand that soldiers perform a certain amount of running, sit-ups, and pushups.

The Army commanders want to change the tests so that they reflect what is needed in battle. This will include an obstacle course in full combat gear as well as running test of 400 meters carrying a rifle. The soldiers will also carry sleds weighted with sandbags to the tune of 180 pounds. I think this is the correct course for our future fighting forces.
